Erm… It’s probably never a good idea to get addicted to something just when school starts.
Thing is, it wasn’t my fault to begin with.
It all began that fateful day when we all when to Sal’s house to play some video games. What game what game what game…? Ah! Left 4 Dead! And in it goes into the tray.
Me, being apprehensive and all, dutifully watched the intro movie thinking I wouldn’t really enjoy the game ‘cos A) FPSes make me nauseas, and B) I suck period in FPSes ‘cos I tend to PANIC.
So anyway, Izzy and I started the game with me as the ugly dude and Izz as the cool dude, and Sal sitting on the sidelines, patiently guiding us as we blunder through the game and miss everything by inches.
And I had one hell of good time.
So after a couple of days I decided to get Left 4 Dead for my PC. (Also, to test my awesome new rig and see how awesome it can get when it runs some awesome games).
Play play play, die die die. I realised that playing it alone is not as fun as playing with friends. But still fun nonetheless. And I get to play the cool dude (hoozzah!). Anyway, I kept dying at the No Mercy Rooftop Finale. Frustrated and completely in denial that it’s actually due to my own lack of FPS skills, I went to the Left 4 Dead wiki to check out some strategies.
Read read read, digress digress digress. I found myself at Youtube watching a walkthrough by some dude named Attila, which then led me to one of Rooster Teeth’s achievement hunter videos.
Hey, Rooster Teeth! Aren’t you guys the same people who did Red vs Blue (which I never watched) and The Strangerhood (which I watched) a few years back?
Somewhat comforted by the fact that these guys are a legit group instead of some random guys on the internet, I watched more achievement hunter videos and found myself falling in love with guys whose faces I have not seen just because they’re so darned funny.
So it was inevitable that I ended up watching Red vs Blue, the very thing that made these guys famous.
It’s very funny. Crazy hilarious. And very, very addictive. I can’t stop watching it, and I still have 3½ seasons plus 2 additional seasons to go.
Hooooooooz-ZAH. Right when school has just started. Tsk.
And there’s still Left 4 Dead. Perhaps I should consider getting that icon off my desktop??
Nah. Won’t make a difference. I’m even considering getting the Xbox game so I can get some achievements for my Gamertag. Tsk.
Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
Bottomline is, it’s all Salina’s fault.
